A trial secure, off-leash dog area has been built in the northeast section of Banksia Reserve to coincide with the resurfacing of the main oval, which is expected to start in October 2025. This 12-month trial is intended to provide a safe, fenced area for dogs to exercise during the oval's closure, with access through double gates on Tramway Parade and Griffiths Street. The trial will be monitored, and community feedback will be considered to determine if it should become a permanent feature.
The fenced area has a water station, doggy bag dispenser and bins.
