East of a nice playground is a baseball field and a huge grassy area, which runs beside the fence of the neighbouring Northcote High School, which is the off leash area. There is a shelter and some tables on the edge of the playground area and there is a water tap without a bowl in the north east corner of the playground.
Above the grassy area is a patch of woodlands and an entrance to the Merri Park Wetlands area. Wildlife should be protected by leaving dogs out of this area and as an additional deterrent, tiger snakes live here. This area borders the Merri Creek Trail where dogs must be on leash. A gravel track follows the Merri Creek back from this wooded area to the open grassy area.
