Errol Flynn Reserve, which is an off leash area, sits between the off leash Short Beach and Marieville Esplanade. There is a carpark and the southern end has a fenced playground, BBQs, picnic tables and toilets. The reserve is named after the Hollywood actor, Errol Flynn who was born nearby on Battery Point in 1909. He briefly attended Albuera School (1918-1919) and lived in Duke Street, Sandy Bay as a young child. His first associations with water and boats were likely to have been in this vicinity.
