Patonga beach is a dog off-leash beach at all times extending for 500m from the Patonga Wharf in the north southwards to Meroo Avenue where there is signage indicating the end of the off-leash area. The beach, especially the northern end, generally has calm water which is ideal for a swim. There are doggy bag dispensers at the end of Brisk Street near the beach. The wonderful Boathouse Hotel Patonga near the wharf is a perfect spot for lunch and dogs are welcome in the outdoor area.
