Bar Beach is a nice sheltered calm beach but does have time restrictions in the warmer months. The 1.2km long off leash area is the foreshore area north of the beach in front of the Bar Beach kiosk (on an unnamed road off Lake Street), west of foreshore vegetation and south of Spencer Park (near 31 Main Street) except for Dec 1-30 Apr between 10am and 4pm when it is a dog prohibited area. The sand flats in front of Spencer Park are on-leash only. There are toilets in Rotary Park beside Spencer Park. The exact area is waiting for clarification by the Bega Valley council.
