A real gem. Follow the winding steps of Sawmillers Reserve down to the water's edge for a beautiful view of the harbour and an old shipwreck which lies just offshore in Berrys Bay. The reserve features the remains from Eaton's timber yard and a wrecked MSB hopper barge at the foreshore, a striking central wooden stair and deck structure that provides access to the lower level of the reserve, sloping embankments planted with native vegetation give way to an open grassy foreshore, great views south to Pyrmont and Balmain, and west to Balls Head Reserve, water tap and bins. There is a small sandy beach which provides a place for dogs to have a splash and swim. Dogs are welcome off leash in Sawmillers Reserve. Parking is extremely challenging to find.
