The historically significant St Thomas Rest Park is renowned for being the first European cemetery site on Sydney's North Shore. Nowadays, the park features Sexton's Cottage, dating from around 1850, which was restored and opened as a museum in 1985, an interpretive history trail with signage, fully fenced playground, many monuments and headstones scattered around the park, public toilets, water tap, seats, picnic tables and bins.
Dogs are welcome off leash but are not permitted within 10 metres of the playground. The whole park is almost fully enclosed except for 4 small openings in the fences.
