Greenhills Dog Beach is the only ocean-facing dog beach in the Sydney region which makes it a very popular location for dogs who loves paddling in the waves. Greenhills Beach is north of Wanda Beach and is not patrolled and swimming is therefore not recommended for humans.
Time Restrictions
Dogs are permitted on the beach during off-leash hours only. Dogs are allowed on the beach during non-daylight savings from 3pm to 10am. Dogs are allowed on the beach during daylight savings time from 4pm to 10am. Note that dogs are completely prohibited, even if they are leashed, on Greenhills Beach outside of these hours.
The entrance to the off-leash area is at Gate 5. There is a large carpark at the northern end of Mitchell Road adjacent to Wanda Reserve. From there you can walk your dog on-leash to Gate 5. Dogs need to be kept on leash in Wanda Reserve and are prohibited from the dunes behind the beach and on Wanda Beach. The closest public amenities block is at Don Lucas Reserve.
