North Beach Dog beach is off-leash at all times only between Castle Street and Margaret Street only. It is a small sheltered beach just north of the North beach jetty. The beach is made of a few small bays between sharp rocks. There is a sandy beach area between the rocks. There is a human and dog wash and water taps by the jetty.
There are two ways to get to it from the carpark. You can walk down to the entrance to the jetty and walk around a short concrete track then down a few steps to the beach. Or head just up from the carpark and then down a steep 200-meter concrete track to the other end of the beach. Keep your eyes out for the signs saying dog beach as dogs are not allowed on other areas.
