There are two areas which are dog off leash at all times. There is a 5.4km stretch soouthwards from the Surf Club Carpark and a 1.3km long stretch north of the Norton Promenade Beach Access Point. The central 1km long part of the beach is off leash except November - April 9am-5pm when it is on leash.
