Blind Creek Dog Off Leash Area

At #11 Calder Way there is a small playground which you can pass to get to a grassy reserve and multi-use trail (Blind Creek Trail) at the back. From this point the trail goes to the Eastlink Trail (1.3 km) in a westerly direction or to Knox City (2.3 km) in an easterly direction.

If you head west from the playground you'll pass a sculpture which celebrates the achievements of Sir Hupert Oppenheimer. When you reach High Street Road there is a bin. This section between High Street Road and the playground has thick bush and a creek on one side plus some grassy areas which have been mown dotted with trees on the other side. There is also a lot if long grass.

Heading from the playground in an easterly direction, there is thick vegetation beside the creek and you definitely need to beware of snakes in the warmer months. At times you'll need to stay on the multi-use path and this walk isn't suitable for dogs which can't easily coexist with bike riders. At 1.7 km to Knox City a path comes in from Renou Road. There are few opportunities for dogs to get off the trail at this point. At 1.3 km from Knox City, you come to an underpass for Timmothy Drive which can be muddy but there are options to cross the road and avoid the underpass. A bit further along another path leads in from Old Orchard Drive. In this area there is more open grassy areas with less thick bushes and trees and the creek is no longer visible. However it can be boggy a fed wet after rain. There isn't a lot of bike traffic and there are occasional seats to rest on. The trail then passes under the Burwood Highway using an underpass and passes through Collier Reserve which has some interesting sculptures made from bike parts.

The trail continues past the Westfield Knox shopping centre to Scoresby Road and Ringwood.
