Due to the predominately rural nature of the municipality, Wellington Shire Council nominates dog on lead areas, rather than dog off lead areas. Apart from the nominated areas listed below, dogs can be exercised without leads, provided they remain in the effective control of the person walking them. All dogs are required to be placed on a lead at all times in the following designated areas: Seaspray Foreshore Playground, Children's Playground (area between Buckley, Bearup, Lyons and Buchan Streets). There are public toilets at Seaspray Beach.
