Due to the predominately rural nature of the municipality, Wellington Shire Council nominates dog on lead areas, rather than dog off lead areas. Apart from the nominated areas listed below, dogs can be exercised without leads, provided they remain in the effective control of the person walking them. All dogs are required to be placed on a lead at all times in the following designated areas: Prince Street, Playground Area (Lyons Street), Prince Street Reserve, Edward Crooke Reserve (west of Neighbourhood House). There are public toilets at Prince Street Reserve, eastern end of Queen Street and Willow Park RV Campground.
