A grassy area (90m x 60m) with roads on two sides dotted with trees (the grassy area that is and not the roads). There is a playground in the south west corner, water tap with bowl in two places, shaded and unshaded tables and seats, BBQ and toilets.
The gardens are named after former Mayor of Prahran, William Benjamin Lumley (1878-1935), who purchased and then gifted most of the site to Council for recreation purposes in 1928/29. In the late 1940s, the park was used as a flower farm to supply all of Prahran Council with flowers for a time.
