JL Murphy Reserve Dog Off Leash Area
461 Plummer Street,
Port Melbourne VIC,
3207
A large reserve with two ovals which are fenced but have some gaps for access. A grassy area runs along busy Williamstown Road in the northern area of the park. There is a pavilion with bins and toilets and nearby is a basic playground (with a fun purple dinosaur) with two shelters with a table each, BBQs, bins and water tap with bowl.
The reserve has some trees which are mainly dotted around the perimeter. In the southern part of the reserve is a baseball field which is home of the Port Melbourne Baseball Club.
There is also an open field with a fence to provide some protection from the road. At the extreme southern end are some soccer fields which are fenced off without access and are home to the Port Melbourne Soccer Club. Throughout the reserve there are some gravel walking paths.
The sportsgrounds are dogs off-leash year round, when no organised sport is being played except for Community Synthetic Ground (Pitch 3) which is a dog prohibited area.
