Facilities and features include toilets, playground, Fairfield Boathouse & Tea Gardens, Fairfield Amphitheatre, shady trees and lawns, sheltered areas, water taps, BBQs, picnic tables, Ivanhoe Northcote Canoe Club, cricket nets, sports pavilion, two soccer grounds, and a cricket ground.

The park is a dog off leash area with the following restrictions:
  • Dogs are prohibited within playgrounds
  • Dogs must be kept on-leash within 10 metres of playground areas
  • Dogs are allowed off-leash in unfenced sporting grounds only when the grounds are not in use for approved sporting events (including training)
  • Dogs must be kept on-leash within 10 metres of sporting grounds when they are in use for approved sporting events (including training)
There is a car park at the end of Fairfield Park Drive with toilets, bins and a water tap with bowl. From this point it is 100m to the Fairfield Park Boathouse and the Main Yarra Trail passes across the southern part of the park.

There is a basic playground with tables, BBQs and water tap without a bowl located on the northern side along Heidelberg Road. There is a fence between the road and the playground area but none at the eastern end, where a bin is located. Dogs must be on-leash within five metres of the playground.

There are plenty of paths which are well sign posted. The park has lovely natural surroundings with quite steep paths leading down to the Yarra River. Some of the attractions in this area are Fairfield Park Boathouse, Amphitheatre and the Pipe Bridge which leads across to Studley Park. If you cross the bridge, you reach a dog on leash area in the bushland along the river.

To the west side is an open area dotted with some trees which has some soccer fields, a cricket pitch and a pavilion which is home to Fairfield Cricket Club. There is a water tap without a bowl near the pavilion. Across the road are some toilets.
