Long Beach north of rock barrier (2nd ramp) and south of 3rd ramp is a dog off leash area except between 9am and 8pm from Dec 1 to after the Easter Long weekend. Long Beach, which is a total of 12km long is a Robe icon because it is one of the few South Australian beaches that you can still drive your car down onto. Dog walkers need to be very careful of cars. You can drive onto Long Beach in Robe at the 2nd and 3rd ramps, and continue driving along the beach, particularly with a 4WD. The 3rd ramp, located at the end of Steve Woolston Road, is a popular access point. While 2WD vehicles can access the beach from the second ramp, 4WD vehicles can drive further north along the beach.
