From Mitchell Street at the northern end southwards for 3km is a dog off leash area at all times. There is a steep sandy entry onto the beach at the northern end which is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. A very narrow dry beach at high tide and very flat at low tide but covered with pools between the sand banks. Bins are a fair distance apart.
