Coniston Beach is a dog friendly beach on the southern side of Wollongong. The long stretch of sandy beach is adjacent to the Wollongong Golf Course and runs southwards from the eastern end of Bank Street where there is car parking for 1.8km to the Port Kembla Harbour seawall. There is another access point at the eastern end of Swan Street which has an interesting access path through the golf course to the beach plus a water tap. South of the golf course is the Wollongong Waste Water Treatment Plant and there is no public access to the beach in this area.
