The northern end of Stuarts Island is an off leash area. There is a grassy area with trees and dogs can also have a paddle in the Nambucca River but dogs are not permitted to chase the wildlife within the inter-tidal zone. The southern part of the island is occupied by the Nambucca Heads Island Golf Club. There are toilets, shelter with table, unshaded tables and bins.
