Uriarra East Picnic Area is located on the east side of the Murrumbidgee River and is part of the Uriarra Crossing Recreation Area. The area is particularly popular with birdwatchers and there is plenty of birdlife to discover, including the colourful Rainbow Bee-eater (Merops ornatus), birds of prey, and waterbirds. Toilets are available. Activities in the reserve include birdwatching, fishing, nature observation, picnics, swimming (for humans and dogs), walking and watercraft. Facilities include canoe / kayak entry point, communal fireplace, picnic tables, shelter, toilets and walking tracks. There are no bins - take your rubbish with you.
Dogs are welcome off-leash unless signposted otherwise. Dogs must be under effective control at all times. Dogs are not permitted within 10 m of any fireplace or barbecue that is in use.
