Point Hut Crossing is a shady picnic area with good access to sandy beaches. Picnic tables and toilet facilities are available. You can take an easy and scenic 1-hour walk from Point Hut Crossing to Pine Island South. This is the southernmost section of the Murrumbidgee Discovery Track. Activities in the reserve include fishing, picnics, swimming (for humans and dogs), walking and watercraft. Facilities include canoe / kayak entry point, picnic tables, toilets and walking tracks. There are no bins - take your rubbish with you.
Dogs are welcome on-leash and off-leash in designated areas as sign-posted. The western riverbank of Point Hut Crossing recreational area is a dog off leash area. Dogs must remain on-leash on the eastern riverbank. Dogs must not be taken northward beyond the turnoff to the off-leash exercise area on the Murrumbidgee Discovery Track.
